Electromagnetic Interference

I have pioneered a technique whereby abstract photos are produced through electromagnetic interference. The camera is pointed at a blank canvas. Interference (by means of electrical signals) is actively injected into the camera sensor. This produces patterns on the blank “canvas”. By varying the intensity, format and frequency of the interfering signal, different abstract forms emerge. A photo is then taken. This is usually done with an affordable webcam, as actual interference often leads to the destruction of the camera. The abstract images that emerge appear to have a life of their own.
